Many individuals contribute to the Karuna team and trained volunteers play a very important role in ensuring the successful operation of our service.

Patient care volunteers work closely with our staff to offer respite care at home for families. Others volunteer assistance with office, library or handyman tasks or help promote Karuna through fundraising and social activities.

VOLUNTEERS IN TRAINING

The volunteers at Karuna are an amazing group of people. It isn't easy to find a person with the right attributes to suit palliative care yet at Karuna, the volunteers are in a league of their own!

Before joining our service, respite volunteers undergo a thorough training program to ensure they will provide ultimate service to our patients. Volunteers learn a variety of palliative techniques before they enter the Karuna service.

OTHER WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

Of course, respite volunteering is not the only way you can help Karuna. The following is a list of other ways you can contribute your time to the Karuna Hospice Service.
